Karthik (Mahat Raghavendra) an engineering college student who has 16 backlogs in his studies had a relationship with Priyanka (Archana Kavi) who is a classmate of his. Priyanka was sent to USA for her MS forcefully by her father which left Karthik a depressed lonely guy.
With his backlogs Karthik was pushed out of his home which indeed made him to think about his life. Chaitra (Pia Bajpai) helps Karthik to sharpen his inner talent of ethical hacking and finally finds a job and a relationship developed between them. In the meantime Priyanka is back to India and rest of the story is How Karthik makes a right choice?
Performances
Mahat Raghavendra failed to sink his lip for the Telugu dialogues . The role as Back Bench Student didn't suit him well. His dances are good but he should concentrate on his dialouge delivery and expressions.
Archana Kavi delivers a commendable performance even her role is short.
Pia Bajpai is beautiful in glamorous touch role and good at her performance.
Brahmanandam wasted in the role Kareena Kapoor while Ali succeded in bringing comic touch, Sarath Babu, Pragathi does their roles at their best and others are good.
Technical Analysis
Music and Background scores by Sunil Kashyap are not up to the mark and could say they are loud at times. Cinematography by Prasad G.K makes your eyes strain and dialogues couldn't make a sense. Dharmendra's editing is crisp and Madhura Sreedhar's direction leaves us to a big disappoinment. Production values are just Ok.
Analysis
First half of Back Bench Student picks up interesting subject of college and pace of the film falls a right till the interval block. Story goes predictable and screenplay lacks interest where lead actors performance lacks efficiency with pale expressions. Second half leaves with some comedy by Ali and Sriharsha Basava while Pia Bajpai adds her screen presence to this.On screen chemistry between lead pairs didn't work with stretched scenes and badly executed climax.
My Take:-
It's a Back Bencher stuff lacks everything in terms of entertainment
